New Harvard Admits: Think about the pre-orientation programs

They are all great ... check out the brochure from last year.
A great way to make friends and settle in before the crowds arrive ...

Thanks twinmom! A 2014 one was also included in the admitted students packet… I think I’m going to sign up for either the Fall Clean-Up one or the FUP.

No do FOP. Seriously.

FUP is wonderful!

Putting in a plug for Dorm Crew here, since instead of paying money, you’ll get money.

^ Makes good sense, though FUP is free too!

fop was one of the best decisions ive made here. do it.

I’ve heard plenty of good things about FOP, and I’m actually quite keen on it. However, I’m an international student, so I’m guessing the default option is FIP. Can anyone advise on this? Pros and cons of each would be great.

I can’t comment on the other programs but my daughter spent two years as a FOP leader and loved it. I know from her that it’s a wonderful program.

You can’t go wrong any which way. Do the one that appeals to you most.

FUP!!!
it is the best. trust me.

that is all.

I got the impression from the Dean’s website that international students are conscripted to FIP. Does anyone know if attending is mandatory? (I’m from Canada, so I don’t know if the orientation to America involved is really necessary.)

Call the Freshman Dean’s Office and ask!

I agree with Dwight E… Dorm Crew is actually a fun option and you earn some dollars…

btw, trivia: don’t know if it’s on their resumes but some of the Board of Overseers Presidents started their Harvard careers with Dorm Crew pre-orientation

Rivers Cuomo worked in Dorm Crew. I’ve heard him on the radio once mention it in an interview.

Doing FOP was the best decision I ever made.

hey (ive already asked this), but when i applied for dorm cleanup, it says theyll tell me in a month if ive been accepted. should i expect to be accepted or should i maybe prepare other plans? lol
