Am thinking of applying to Cornell RD this fall.

My only doubts about Cornell is that it's too engineering-related, which I don't really wanna get into (I'm thinking more along the line of social sciences...), and the fact that it's in Bumblefck NY. Ithaca seems crazy boring (although kinda beautiful).
But if I got accepted to this Ivy League school (just moved up to #12 in the US News Weekly rankings, 07!), and rejected from my other top schools, I don't know if I'd be able to turn it down.

Any candid assesments are greatly appreciated.

Recs should be very good.
Essay, I feel confident about. I'm a good writer, and have begun work on an essay. It starts out describing my first ever visit to the American Museum of Natural History, and goes on to discuss how it developed my interest in anthropology, which led to my summer course at Brown, which was not just an experience that led to a greater appreciation for and knowledge of the discipline of anthro, but an experience that taught me a lot about myself, as I had never been away from home before.
