Just checked the orientation website and BU has posted new info on orientation, including the cost for parents to stay in the dorms ($55/night). Maybe today or tomorrow everyone will have instructions on how to get a bu.edu account and be able to register.

mint i was wondering when they would post that

I got the email today for the BU email account. I'm so excited. So I guess if ppl didnt get them today they are coming really soon.

Yup, I got the email and I signed up for the 1st orientation (Jun 15-17 I think, I could be one day off,) and booked my 130$ round trip fair(Fort Lauderdale to Boston for 130 Round-trip, im still in shock.)
We can browse the course schedule thingy, but it won't let me on the preplacement job boards yet.
I get a bu email address tommorow(takes them 24 hours)

I am new to this, what is orientation? what do you do? does it matter which dates you chose(advantages/disadvantages)? do parents go? Do you have to be there for all 3 days? I know nothing about this!

what exactly is the "Common Ground Program" and should i sign up for it??

You should get an email with how to login to the Studentlink, then through studentlink you sign up.
About which one, from what they say it doesn't matter, you'll get the same class choice no matter which one, but I doubt this. If you don't know this already most freshmen are required to take WR100(writing) and there are units of WR100 offered in many differnet subjects, the good ones will probably be taken first. What they are saying is, you will get a section of WR100, but which one iprobably depends on when you come. You have to be there Thurs and Friday, the registration says wednesday is optional but recomended. And you can go alone and stay at BU for 30$ a night(thursday night is required and included in the 135$ orientation fee.)
From what I understand, common ground is a 'diversity orientation' where we all try to learn about living in a diverse environment.( but I could be off base)
