Are they trying to cover their butts after UNC messed up or do they always do that? Has UF ever falsely notified someone?

I just heard that someone hacked into UF's system and sent out 2,000 false acceptances. Though this has me slightly worried/confused becaues I never got a letter in the mail. So either they are cheating ED of a letter or I actually didnt get in.

And I dont believe I didnt get in, since I have sent my deposit, etc, and they would have said something by now. So why didnt we get a letter?

hmmm, it took me a really long time to get my letter (2nd week of January) so it might be on its way. Give them a call though if you are worried.

Oh thank GOD you said that. My stomach dropped when I read the previous comment. Still I think I might call to be like "***, why dont I get a letter". None of my friends that got in got one however so I wont worry.

That was the only thing that really annoyed me. Every other college sends you a letter of admission. Its supposed to be something you frame and stuff.

yes, I applied ED. Ive heard of some people getting different letters than others because many said that theirs came in a small envelope, though mine came in a large packet. But if it shows on their website then Id think that youre set.

Now they got rid of the chart that shows whether or not parts of your application have been received and now it just shows this.

"The Office of Admissions has received your application for 2007 FALL . Your file is being processed. Please return to the admissions web site in a few days to check the status of your application."

The suspense is going to kill me, not to mention I'm not going to get in.
Ugh.

I am highly disappointed. We planned a party on Friday for us to celebrate. Oh Well, but were still going to have a party anyway. lol UF is not my first choice school, but I am just anxious to get a college acceptance letter. I feel I have a pretty good chance because the people that got accepted ED from my school were pretty good but I have better stats/ec's than them. Also, it says on UF's Common Data set that students ranked in top 5% of a Florida public high school that have completed the college preparatory curriculum are guaranteed admission to UF. Hope that's true!

Lol, I mentioned that to my mom too. Not to mention someone changed what was on the status page around 9 PM. I guess they will be there this weekend...

My whole theory on the delay from Jan 26th to the 2nd, and now to the 3-4, is because they're re-evaluating how many acceptances they want to give out in RDI based on, I'm sure they got a flood of Apps for RDII, some of which probably came from highly qualified students who just never considered UF before the championship.
Knowing my luck, I'm the one who got edged out.

To stereotype: apparently GatorMom called up UF and spoke to several people. it stopped being true they must've not updated that tho. Im not doubting youll get in at all, just saying = )

and check the post i just made. its 5pm tonight.
