I may have been a little harsh with my reaches, sorry. If you can raise your test scores even a little you stand a much better chance. Right now you should get into quite a few of these schools, but I sense that by your inclusion of a few higher caliber schools you have higher hopes. Even raising your scores a little over the board will make this far more likely. Good luck!

Chance back?

Hey.

Thanks for chancing at my thread. Well honestly, I don’t know enough about college admissions to tell you where you stand. You have a good GPA, decent test scores, and a good bunch of EC’s that you’ve participated in. Just apply everywhere you want. I’m sure you’ll get into a good bunch of the schools you apply to, even reaches.

I like the fact that your college list is well balanced. A good bunch of reaches, matches, and safety schools. You should do well. Anyway, good luck bro! :)

thank you so much! you as well! yeah this college admissions progress is pretty frustrating, there’s just so much to look at and soooo many schools, but I’m glad i found this board to help me kind of get started.

and StephenHawking don’t worry you weren’t tough with those schools, and thanks I think I will try to improve my scores!

i’m in a very similar situation as far as test scores, rigor of classes, etc. (i got a 29 composite and a 1870 on the SAT.) i think you should definitely submit your ACT scores only, since they are significantly better. a 29 is roughly equal to a 1950, so you have more than a 100 point improvement. I think you’ve got a good mix of safeties, reaches, and matches. your chances at ivies are slim, however definitely apply if your truly interested in the school, not just the prestige, because its possible you have a quality that can’t be conveyed through your stats. good luck!

your ecs are really good, and all around your app looks impressive. the only thing I would suggest would be raising your sat scores by studying like CRAZY this summer, which I also plan on doing  good luck!!!

bumppppp :)
