so apparently apple has having a new iPhone??? It has g3 technology and GPS....I was wondering if there is anything else that is different among the old and the new iPhone...I plan on getting one :)

Support for third-party native apps and access to a new app section in iTunes (some of which rival current mobile gaming platforms), huge price cut, notification push technology without background processes, compatibility with Microsoft Exchange and Powerpoint, as well as Apple's iWork and their new MobileMe for complete synchronization of your personal data management, SDK functionality for developers, new case (plastic black back), introduction of a white 16GB model, flush microphone jack, and improved battery life that will give you up to 24 hours of audio.

Can you tell I just watched the keynote? :P

I would totally get one, if only at&t had any kind of service whatsoever where I live.

wow...so what about this?

I am currently on att....I am on the 2 year lease...and I am 1 year into it...if I want to get the new iPhone..what should I do?

I don't think you're eligible for a device upgrade until you hit 18 months into your contract. Once there, you'd be able to upgrade if you wanted.

The new one also has GPS, TomTom (a GPS maker) is putting their app on the iTunes store soon for it.

Anyhow, it's really nice looking, but it still has its issues. Plastic back, but glass front (why? people drop cell phones... a lot...), they raised the price of the data plan by $10/mo, they're going to make you wait in store to activate it, you can't get wireless loss/damage/theft insurance for $5/mo (almost every other phone, including other smartphones, has that as an option)... I think it's a nice phone. But for the price and limitations I just can't see it myself.

More interesting...seeing how the battery life in this thing is when 3G internet service is being used heavily.

Its thinner supposedly. dont buy the new iphone. google partnered up with companies like LG, Samsung, Nokia, etc... based on their software(smart phone os that is linux based) which runs more smoothly, faster, less intensive on the hardware. theyre coming out later this year i hear.

Many phones can beat the iphone.

Sony xsperia x1
htc touch diamond pro

those phones right now arent competitive in the market. reasons being promotion, brand name, price, etc...

verizon sells old models of the htc touch model. not the new one.

good to see apple is finally adding things that other phones have had for god knows how long.......

Unless my ATT Tilt decides to crap out, I won't be switching over to an iphone.

AT&T Tilt = HTC TyTN II

HTC TyTN II + Android (if it becomes possible) > iPhone ;)
