New Jeopardy host preference? / Jeopardy updates

Ken Jennings was my family’s favorite. It’s very noticeable when the host knows how the game works. I think Ken and Mike having such a strong connection to Alex makes all the difference.

I’m excited for Bill Whitaker, I think he’s going to do well.

Another fan of Ken Jennings and Oz-hater. Dr. oz is a sellout and a quack so it is hard to take him seriously. Ken has been a consulting producer on the show for a while and I think the fact that he can see the game through the eyes of a contestant can only add to the show as a whole. I love Anderson Cooper’s sense of humor and I think he does a great job with serious news subjects so I am looking forward to seeing him but I don’t see him as a permanent host. I am also curious to see Mayim Bialik - great sense of humor and she’s super smart.

i was a little reluctant to watch any episodes with guest hosts at all but i just couldn’t keep away from jeopardy lol. ken and mike were the best and katie was… a bit grating to say the least. I’m not watching dr. oz at all. it’ll be a painful two weeks but I’ll manage

I saw Dr. Oz tonight (J wasn’t on last night because of the shooting in Boulder). I didn’t think he was so bad. Katie seemed surprised when someone got an answer correct. “yes, that’s right, Berlin IS in Germany! You are correct!!”

I think Ken J is happy doing his other game shows and just being behind the scenes.

Katie added too much of herself in her hosting. IMO, you want someone who doesn’t offer much personality at all – just fades into the background while doing the job flawlessly.

An article about Aaron Rodgers hosting. Just in case you didn’t know that football players are on another level

No doubt that’s how Aaron would handle the role. He’s not your typical guy - even a little quirky and a smart man with a little off humor - but dude is smart and I can’t wait to watch him.

Did anyone see Aaron Rodgers? What did y’all think?

Has Aaron Rodgers’s episodes aired yet? We ended last week with Dr. Oz.

They started today.

He is the only fill-in host I’ve watched so I have no basis for comparison. I know that I would eventually get used to someone else, but this felt so … different. Stick around for final jeopardy, because one of the contestants posted something funny!

Was just coming to remind that Aaron’s got starts today!

I thought Aaron was Okay but not great. I was hoping he would be better because I really like the guy. Hopefully this is just first episode nervousness.

Unless he steps it up big time, I just don’t see Aaron doing this long term. Just not that good. Of the 5 so far, the only 2 I can see in the role for the long haul are Ken and Mike.

Does anyone really think that Aaron is looking to land this role? (The correct answer is no!)

I’m biased for sure but I thought he did fine for “Opening night”. Held his own, barely stumbled on any words and managed through that final jeopardy diss.

I thought he was not great but as you say it WAS opening night. I thought I read somewhere he WAS interested in being the permanent host?

Just fair. I’ll keep watching.

He doesn’t have the announcer’s voice that some of the others have had. It’s deep, but it doesn’t ‘fill the stage’ and flow. He does have a day job, so I think he and his new sweetie will have enough for a down payment on a new home.

Thought his voice was too montone, not enough inflection. Also, he wasn’t helped by the contestants, particularly the woman at far right, who would get a correct response, then pause to decide where to go next–led to dead air, I thought. Miss the Jennings/Holhauzer rapid fire answer followed by next selection.

So far Mike Richards has been the easiest to listen to, IMO.

Aaron is…boring.

Still on Team Mike!

I agree - Aaron is just a little too mellow. But he’s better than Dr. Oz. I also think Mike was the best so far.
