At the start of last night’s game, I thought that the new champ would end up negative and not be in FJ. He was very nervous at first and guessed wrong on several questions. But boy did he get his confidence back!
Same here. I initially thought he was going to be a non factor in the game.
I watched the very first episode of the Trebek run on YouTube. IDK what was more annoying - the audience reactions or the audio accompanying the ringing in. I guess in those days you could ring in as soon as the clue was revealed.
Another super easy FJ, I thought.
Spoiler
I’m rather surprised nobody was correct.

Watch for Ken poking fun at the results of the November 30, 2004 episode in tonight’s Double Jeopardy! I spit out my coffee.
Summary
And Ken kept a straight face!
I was happy to get FJ right when none of the contestants did. And I never took Latin.
Agreed. That seemed to be an easy FJ to be. I was surprised at the outcome
Ray is having quite a winning streak! Happy New Year to all you Jeopardy fans!
I like him. Great voice and he’s unflappable.
He’s had a couple of close ones, but I’m enjoying his run.
It’s interesting how Ken is commenting on Ray’s being Canadian from time to time, like “I find Canadians know their War of 1812,” or the story about Trebek being awarded the Order of Canada. I guess Jeopardy has a good following in Canada.
It’s interesting that Johnny Gilbert announces him as “from Toronto, Ontario, Canada…” Like we don’t know that Toronto is in Canada.
Maybe there is a Toronto street in Ontario California and Johnny thinks some people might be confused?
I believe they’ve always introduced Canadians by City/Province/Canada. (Perhaps bcos Alex was Canadian and always wanted to reference the country?)
Billy Wisse, the co-head writer on Jeopardy, is Canadian.
McGill Alumni - Behind the scenes at Jeopardy!
The average American has virtually no knowledge of Canada. There was a question a few months ago in the category of “Colleges and Universities” along the lines of “This university has campuses in Montreal and Ste.-Anne-de-Bellevue.” The contestant replied “What is University of Toronto?”
Great, close game tonight.
And yesterday as well
But how can we cheer for a guy who didn’t know ‘fish sticks’?
That was funny!
