Please join!

For those who were accepted, first, congratulations of course!!!
Secondly, when is the deadline for your reply of whether or not you’re planning to go? I’m on the waiting list, but I would love know what my chances are. Thanks :)

Hi ImagineDragons,

We do not have a specific time to reply by. We have been asked to return our response promptly. I do have some news for you, and those who are waitlisted. After discussing with other members who were selected to attend the program, there might be a slight chance that someone might be taken off the waitlist. This is very infrequent, according to statistics in past years (available on the New Jersey Scholars Page website).

However, assuming someone were to deny the invitation, you would probably be informed sometime in the end of April or early May.

Good luck to all of those on the waiting list. I really do hope you guys have the opportunity to participate if someone decides not to attend.

Thanks, dawidskalkowski!

The reason I’m asking is that I was accepted into Governor’s School and need to respond by April 12 with my decision. However, I think I would be inclined to choose NJSP over Governor’s School if given that opportunity because, well, NJSP would be amazinggg and more tailored to my interests. It’s nice to know that there’s still… hope? haha thanks again

ImagineCrayons: I would advise you to take up on Governor’s School’s offer. That’s a guarantee, while NJSP is an statistically improbable maybe…

Hey you all! Could you girls and guys offer me some advise in applying to the NJSP? I just got my application today. And I have a dumb question: Is this program also a scholarship? Because I heard it is from some friends of mines but I could not verify this online.

Hi Jay!

First of all, congratulations on getting an application. It’s a pretty selective process for every school since each school can only have two applicants. I am a New Jersey Scholar from the most recent graduating class, and so I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have either on this thread or through a message.

New Jersey Scholars Program is really a five-week interdisciplinary residential summer program. If accepted, you would live on a private campus for five weeks with all program, housing, and dining expenses paid for. You have the choice to dine off-campus, but its on your own money. To answer your question directly, it’s not a direct money-grant scholarship. Rather, all expenses are paid for the actual program.

I strongly encourage you to apply. We really have an amazing and extensive alumni network that have become very successful. If you have any questions about the program itself, I’ll be more than happy to help you out!

Hey guys, I am a semifinalist of NJSP 2015. My interview is coming up and I’m both excited and really nervous! Do you guys remember what questions or types of questions were asked of you during the interview stage? I don’t know how to prepare or if I should prepare at all, but I feel like I should definitely do something.
