New MBA Rankings from The Economist October 25, 2018

The Economist released its new rankings of MBA programs on October 25, 2018. Although the ratings measure 21 factors, pay & placement constitute 45% of the ratings formula. Student satisfaction is another heavily weighted factor and accounts for Chicago-Booth replacing Northwestern-Kellogg as the new top ranked MBA program. The rankings of the world’s top 100 MBA programs include:

Chicago-Booth has dominated these rankings since first revealed in 2013. Chicago-Booth finished at #1 in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 & now in 2018. Chicago was ranked at #2 in 2017.

Northwestern-Kellogg was #1 last year (2017), and is currently ranked at #2. Northwestern-Kellogg also finished second in 2016.

Georgia Tech - Scheller

Georgia Tech-Scheller showed the greatest improvement in ranking since last year moving up to #31.

When “pay & placement” are heavily weighted factors, Stanford’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) tends to lag behind as many graduates wait for start-up/entrepreneurial opportunities rather than accepting more traditional positions with well established companies.

Yes, @Publisher, Scheller has gone from Not ranked (2015) → 51 (2016) → 37 (2017) → 31 (2018)

Great to see ESADE there, and the Judge… great schools, happy I studied at each.
