New Mcat

Will there be less organic chem and physics on the new mcat? What about biology?

The new MCAT will have 4 sections (instead of the current 3) and the new test will increase in length by 1.5-2 hours to accommodate the addition of the new Human Behavior section.

There will be still a Biological Science section with the same number of questions as the current exam. There will still be a Physical Science section with same number of questions as the current exam.

BS will see the inclusion of biochemistry questions as well all the topics now currently covered. The PS section will include statisitics and research design methodology as well as all the currently covered topics in general chemistry and physics.

See AMCAS’s information for students about the 2015 MCAT. It includes a discussion of what kinds of material will be included on it.

have they made a decision regarding whether all applicants for the 2016 school year and beyond will have to take the new one?

Would it be beneficial to take an Intro to Psych course then since there is the human behavior section? What other college courses might help for this new section?

There won’t really be less things you need to know. The people who put out the test are recommending the following classes: intro psych, intro sociology, and 1 semester of biochem. Other people recommended genetics in addition to this.
