Ok…as an international student…some things to consider.

Many colleges are not need blind for admissions for international students. This means your financial situation will be considered when your application for admission is considered.

If you need financial aid, you need to check EACH college for their policy regarding awarding financial aid to international students. Some don’t give any aid to international students, some give limited aid, some give the same as for any other applicants.

Consider the costs of travel or school break lodging in you costs. Some schools close their dorms for all major school breaks. Some have alternate arrangements for international students during breaks and others do not. Some charge for these…some don’t.

If your child is in a non-English speaking situation, they may be required to take the Toefl in addition to the SAT/ACT.

International students are not eligible for fee waivers for the SAT or Profile.

I suggest you also look at colleges in your native country…just in case.
