kctwister, why do you want to go to Penn instead of CMU for CS? It's ranked much lower than CMU. Atmosphere? Business program? I'd like to know.

im accepted to SCS class of 11'

Anyone else NOT hear yet? Not on the website, not by mail, not by email. Nothing, nada. I'm assuming this means denied but it sure would be nice to know.

at this point, I would suggest calling them to see what's up.

I asked Jacobo, the freshmen advisor, and he told me that 25% who got into SCS does not have prior programming experience. I use Pascal and C, and I'm thinking of learning Java in the summer. I'm mostly involved with math and programming contests.
btw, which house and meal plan did u choose? I'm still struggling between meal value and flexibility.

Mathson got in. He's got lots of programming experience. Took the AP as a freshman, and has done freelance work, some for a firm that does websites, and some for research scientists. Everyone we talked to at CMU said to buy the cheapest plan with the most flexdollars.

yay! i'm in. :)

meal plans -> get as few blocks as you can + as many dinex as you can.

Anyone know what Jacobo is like? He was very quiet at the April sleeping bag weekend. The current freshman adviser's personality came through loud and clear, I was a little disappointed not to get any sense what his successor was going to be like.
