I just saw this announcment about a new program at Carnegie Mellon, so thought I'd post for those looking for music technology. (excerpt below from the announcement) I imagine that the number of these programs may be increasing over the next few years...

"Carnegie Mellon University is starting a new music-technology program. The music-technology program, which will teach students skills such as music-equipment design, will play to both strengths by culling courses from the College of Fine Arts, the Carnegie Institute of Technology, and the School of Computer Science. It will initially admit four undergraduate students and eight masters students, according to The Tartan, the universitys student newspaper."

I always saw CMU as kind of an odd duck - very strong performing arts and very strong tech and engeneering....and very little else. This program brings together their real strengths. I suspect it'll be pretty amazing.

This sounds like a great program. I looked at CMU's site when I saw your post - can't find any info about the program except the announcement you cite. If this was announced in the spring - I would hope I could find some information at this point. My son is a junior, so we have some time - but he's trying to get some options on the table and see what requirements are for auditions so he's not scrambling at the last minute.
If you can point me in the direction of information (online if possible) that would be great.
Thanks!
