In the process of planning my trip in October for NAMT and thought that some of you might like to read about this year’s shows chosen to be presented to industry professionals.

Reading the bios for the creators is pretty interesting. Such an accomplished group.
Thanks for sharing. What a very talented group of composers, lyricists, and book writers! I think these are names that young artists should know, because they may be the future of MT!
NAMT is an amazing organization and festival. I credit them, in part, for a start they gave my D in this aspect of her career that led to much that came afterward.
It truly is an amazing organization and one that every prospective student should become familiar with, because, as you mentioned, these are the creators that will likely be the future of MT. In fact, many who participate are already extremely accomplished at getting their work produced. I’m thinking of one of last year’s chosen shows, created by Brian Hill and Neil Bartram. It also is fun to see who is cast in the 45 minute productions, and there may be students here on CC who will eventually get that call from Michael Cassara.
Every year it is so difficult to narrow down the submissions, and this year was no exception, from 236 to 8! The selection committee puts in so many hours of their own time for this. As much fun as it is to see the chosen 8, I always wonder what happens to the other 228.
