I just came back from a tour and the tour guide very briefly mentioned the nanotech center being built...Tech is my #1 choice right now and this center really excites me since nanotech is what I am interested in. Who is going to use the building? Will any classes be held there?

I am a rising Senior applying for the Materials Science & Engineering program by the way.

I know a few people right now that are getting their nanotech certificate, but as far as I know...thats pretty much the extent of it as far as anything major specific goes. I'm guessing most of it will be used for research just like all the other big, expensive buildings here.

You sure that isnt just for graduate students?

MSE is a good program at tech, its quite small (although growing) and personal. The nanotech center looks great, but I wouldn't expect to use it too much as an undergrad unless you do research (and maybe an occasional class will be there too).

Nah, my math TA last semester (he's a 4th year) was in the process of getting the nano cert. Granted, you're taking graduate level courses with graduate students...but it certainly not limited to them.
