just got my letter literally 15 minutes ago and i live about 20 minutes from Vassar so that means everyone else's should be coming in the next few days...
i can't express how thrilled i am. i'll post my stats later if that will be a help to anyone.

That is the determined factor if I can go or not.</p>

<p>vemafe, um to put it in simple terms: straight edge is a movement that started in the 80s underground punk scene. it came from a band called minor threat (the term "straight edge" came form a song with that title) and it centered around purity and respect. to "have the x" means to abstain from drugs, alcohol, promiscuous sex and other stuff that distorts your mind or body.
i wrote about how the movement, and the song in particular, has shaped my life and ya know, being above the influence and all that. i wanted to show that im concerned with getting an education and being a good person rather than enjoying the "college scene" at vassar.
