new person here...

is uva more concerned with uw gpa or weighted

most likely your UW... but both are very important.

what uw gpa minimum u think is ok? i have a 3.7uw and 4.2 weighted gpa

It matters in the context of your school. GPA's are relative, especially weighted GPA's.

all schools have the same gpa scale right? like 4 for a, 3 for b... so technically, the weighted gpa should be the basis everywhere

No, all schools do not have the same GPA scale.

Some schools give A+. Some schools don't give + or - different point values.

Grades are not the same.

GPA depends on many factors:
including ,Class difficulty, School(if they are known for over or under inflating grades), Even the teacher you get for classes matter.(Thank god i got all the easy AP teachers this year)

I believe a student with a 3.6 uw can be just as strong as a student with a 4.0 uw, if he took AP and Honors courses instead of easy A's, and goings to a school that is not known for overinflating grades.

That is why i love the SATs, It compares you with the rest of the students appling to college on a equal and even test. I believe Schools should focus on this more than GPA
