New Poster with Question

I'm a mom whose oldest child is a junior in high school. She was invited to a science open house at one of her top college choices and I was wondering how she should proceed with this. Is business casual appropriate dress? Will she then come back later in the year for an official interview? If anyone has any tips for a first-timer, your time would be much appreciated.

You should post this question on the parents forum, it will be much more helpful.

Do parents generally dress their high school kids?

With all due respect, you seem to be doing so.

Bus/Cas is definitely the way to go. She will stick out if she overdresses and risk projecting a lack of respect/interest if she dresses down.

I was poking fun at myself for that very reason!! My daughter is so busy that she's never around to think about those things and if I don't . . .

Thank you for the tip.

Sorry I misread you. I should have been more perceptive.

In hindsight I believe I was somewhat too involved in my S's app. process. However, the outcome was very sucessful and I don't know what I would do differently. He too was spread very thin.

Good luck to your D!

Welcome to CC. This thread has a lot of useful info about clothing for interviews and other college occasions: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=100616
