New PSAT scoring for National Merit

The new scoring for National Merit will be calculated by adding up the Reading Score, the Writing and Language Score, and the Math Score, and then doubling the sum. The highest possible score in each section is 38. So the highest possible “NMSC Selection Index” (as they are calling it) is (38+38+38) x 2 = 228.
