New puppy! Care routine?

Hi peoples.
One of my mom's friend has a dog, and she just gave birth to a litter of 5 puppies so she is letting us pick one for a lower price. I've wanted a dog for a long time and I am super excited, but I have no experience on taking care of a puppy. I walked a dog once, and completely failed. I was scared that it was going to get hit by a car when we crossed the street or something. I watched a whole ton of videos yesterday and it just made me nervous because there were so many things I didn't think of. How many shots does a puppy need? And do I have to get them at a vet or is there some other place? My mom is already thinking about breeding it and selling puppies, which makes me kind of frustrated because the puppy is only 3 months old and too many litters can be harmful. And if you have a dog, do owners have to have rabies vaccine also? And then theres training it to stop barking, biting, or making a mess indoors.

i just got a puppy! i think that it’s necessary to go to a vet for shots, and mine needed rabies, heart worm…something else, but i forget :frowning:
aren’t you already vaccinated against rabies?
i used to feed him three times a day, but now he just eats in the morning and evening.
i walk him about three times a day

as far as training: lol yeah can’t help you there. my dog is so undisciplined, and i just wanna lock him in his cage sometimes, but then he gives me this look and im like…nvm…i luv u…you can chew my shoes

what type of puppy though??

No.

GO TO THE LIBRARY!!! There is always a section on dog books/taking care of dogs-- books from the ASPCA, American Kennel Club, etc. Do as much research as you can online as well. This forum is really not the best place to get advice. If you are getting a puppy, you need to accept the added RESPONSIBILITY that comes along with it. Do your research (not just youtube videos!) and you’ll be fine :)

I totally have the same problem. Theyre so cute and i let them get away with everything. Shes a yorkie, purebred. Which are really expensive so i understand why my mom would want to sell her puppies in like 2 years. And I have no idea which vaccines I already have, they have such long medical names.

awwwwww :)

i have a maltese! he was really expensive, too. i named him mochi :)
