Here's an article I found out yahoo and wondering if you agree.
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050313/ap_on_re_us/new_sat

i agree, that test is long as hell, and students in america are not used to such a long test, it will make a difference in scores...on the other hand there are 9 hour tests in India for college admissions so idk lol...

In my opinion, it was TOO LONG...we were in there for almost 5 hours...I started to phase out by section 8...I was just ready for it to be over

w/e...its ovr i dont care nemore...until april 11 at least

yeah...the test is extremely long.
What I don't understand is why they added the last section instead of simply revamping the SAT II writing and the fixing Verbal section on the SAT I.

HA...the last quote in that article cracks me up. '"it's sad because my whole life is the SAT"...
if your life revolves around the SAT, I think there's a slight problem....

The SAT is three hours and 45 minutes. If you were in there for almost five, then it's a memory problem.

no i was there for five as well... we started 15 mins late, and there were maybe 20 mins for all breaks... and 30 mins for preparation of the overall test

My test didn't start until two hours after the scheduled time. Also, after we finally got the test, we had another half-an-hour delay because all the walk-ins who came from schools that closed. We didn't finish the whole exam until seven hours after the College Board told us it would start :)

scoliosis ->back pain.

S was there from 8 until 1, including breaks. 5 hours. He was not happy.

Yea, I was at my test center for 5 hours as well. There were a ton of people late so we sat there (since it was before the test, it was pretty stressful just stitting there). That combined with the test, breaks, passing-in and -out tests, more waiting... totaled to about 5 hours roughly...

Harsh...

:
