I just got my SAT back and I got a 1510 (750 R 760 M).
My superscore is now a 1530( 750 R 780 M )
Should I bother to retake it? I’m a white male looking to major in either Chemical Engineering or Math at an Ivy.
I’m kind of upset that my math score went down 20 points Will colleges care?
btw i got a 33 on the act ( 35 E 34 M 34 R 30 S ) which corresponds to a 1510 on the concordance table lol
I got 800s on math II and chemistry btw. Not sure if that’s relevant but whatever
bump
I think you’re good with standardized testing. Focus on other things now!
I wouldn’t retake anything. And schools either won’t see the 760 in math or won’t care much at all if they do.
The 800s in Math II and Chemistry are definitely relevant. With the 780, they show you’re clearly good enough in math and science as far as testing, and admissions will then look at the rest of your application.
I wouldn’t bother sending the ACT to anyone unless a school requires it, and wouldn’t retake it. Even a 34 wouldn’t help your case more than the SAT will.
By the way, if you’re a senior, you definitely should focus on other things than testing. If you’re a junior, you might consider if there’s a non-math or science subject where you can get a high score on a SAT II, just to show some more breadth.

Unless I misunderstand your post, colleges treat both the SAT and ACT equally. C34 is clearly a higher number than an SAT 1510.
Whether the C34 helps or not, though, is up to each individual college and their admissions policies.
OP, you’re better off consulting with the colleges directly to determine if your score is “good enough”. Either look at their websites for average score ranges of students who got it (Freshmen Profiles) or call/email the colleges directly.
