"new SAT" questions

Hi all. I have a couple of questions regarding the new SAT I.

How does the essay influence my score? In my Barron’s 22nd Edition it says that “The essay is a separate subscore from the Writing Skills Raw Score” but doesn’t specify how.

In the same edition of Barron’s there are tests with 7 Sections. Now I see 10 sections in tests. Should this influence my score if I have been preparing with tests of 7 sections? Also, there are some significant changes from what I was accustomed to… Like the 35 questions in 25 minutes… Is that even do-able? :(

I will take the SAT in May and I really want to know what I can do to update my SAT performance and score high (>2300) on this new 10 section format.

Ty and good luck to all. (Normally I’m optimistic with stuff like this, but this turn-around KOed me completely)

Yeah Barron's is a bit weird. They have the same amount of questions but less sections forcing you to do more in less time. Also the questions are really hard but they do help. I get like 680 on the math section on barrons and 750+ on collegeboard's official stuff. My opinion is only valid for math on this. didn't try the other sections on barron's
Also, i think essay is heavily weighted in the writing section. picking out sentence errors is not my favorite pastime so i do so so on the multiple choice. but i get really good scores on the essay. 11s and 12s and that brings my score in the 700-800 region.
buy the official online course. they do the grading, the essays and everything. you will have a better understanding there.

For Writing, the essay is worth 30%, while the MC is worth 70%.
