Hey, I was wondering how the new SAT was - espcially the verbal part. Haven't seen it or even heard how it went, since I go to a British school!
How should I prepare myself for it? I think I'm pretty confident with the math... but the verbal, no. Please help! Cause I've scheduled my SAT 1 for June4th but haven't done much prep fo rit! Thnx!

It's actually pretty easy because now you don't have to study huge vocab lists for analogies. Go to collegeboard.com and read what they have to say about the SAT, and I'm pretty sure they have the free sample test, so take that as well. I would say all you need to do to study is take a few practice tests... you don't have to do much.

but i heard the sentence completions were full of hard vocabulary... worried.. anyone else got anything to say?

you can guess on most of the sentence completions and get a pretty decent score... there were only a few words that I didn't know and I never study vocab.

You know what really makes the new "vebal" hard? That dang critical reading...I can get it mostly right, but I always take too much time; it sucks. Sentence completion is pretty easy...even if you don't know the words, you can guess right most of the time using some "skills" lol. Like if a word is positive or negative, eliminating wrong choices, and using root words.

Critical reading is fun with passages that aren't so lugubrious in nature that they offer little more gratification than a dirge/i. Also, it leoses its appeal by the time the first double passage rolls around.

CB pamphlet? What's that and where can I get it?

The practice College Board test in the pamphlet they distribute. If your guidance office doesn't have it, you can get it online at Collegeboard's site.

how do i get it? i cant find any practice test.. thnx!

i am so god damn bad at RC I have no idea what I'm going to do.

take practice tests! it won't be fun but it will help you!

I'd say its easier than the old SAT (keeping in mind that I'm not good at vocab) because it doenst have analogies and there are short readings which are ALOT easier. Take practice tests (like previous posts have stated) to get used to the format, definitely.
