New SAT's and SAT 2's

This has confused the hell out of me as I’m sure it has many people…
Now I understand the New SAT’s…but the SAT 2’s are just confusing…
they changed it so now you only take two tests…but I’m not sure as to what exactly it is saying…because I signed up for the US histroy and Math level 1…
But now I’m hearing that they wont except math level 1…is this true?
How can they change to a harder math level then it was before?
What exactly would I need to know for math level 2…I mean I have taking Geometry, Advanced Algebra 2, and AP stats in High school already…that is past what most people do *they usually start in Algebra 1…
Would they actually reject my math level 1 scores on the SAT 2’s?

I know that the University of California system will not accept Math Level 1C anymore. And you definitely need to have taken a trigonometry course for Math Level 2C. Not sure about other universities, they may still take the 1C

they don't offer trig...errr...that was part of geometry...
the other option besides AP Stats is math analysis...
So your saying that in order to get into a UC you need to take math analysis...and they didn't bother to tell us this till it was to late?

The UC has always recommended at least four years of mathematics as stated on their A-G requirement list.

http://pathstat1.ucop.edu/ag/a-g/math_reqs.html

I've taken Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and AP stats....that is four years...
what is on the SAT 2 test for math level 2 that I would not know?

dats basically it man. you are set.

but isn't pre-calculas math analysis?

Many years before, there was not a Pre-Calculus course. It was basically Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Calculus. Pre-Calc is advanced algebra 2 inconjunction with trigonometry.

Math-analysis is not completely comparative to Pre-Calc. Math analysis hand picks parts of pre-calc to enforce...polar coords, fundamental algebra..etc. However the math-analysis is usually recommended to be taken with one year of trigonometry or linear algebra.

Math-analysis however should have enough of pre-calc to prepare you for the SAT II: Math IIC.

so would I be fine having taken algebra 1, geometry, Advanced Algebra 2, and AP Stats?

the MATH IIC is pretty rigorous with the trigonometry...

Have you learned trigonmoetry through advanced algebra 2...because usually they do teach you trig with advanced algebra 2. You should be fine for the rest of the test...at most you would need to brush up on trigonometry and functions.

actually..you probably learned enough trig from geometry..
if you did pretty well in those four classes, you should be able to get a high score on the SAT II.

i would only study up on functions..

I'll buy an Sat 2, math level 2 study book...
thanks for the help..
really wish this information was more public, cause I'm sure many people are confused about his
