Many years before, there was not a Pre-Calculus course. It was basically Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Calculus. Pre-Calc is advanced algebra 2 inconjunction with trigonometry.

Math-analysis is not completely comparative to Pre-Calc. Math analysis hand picks parts of pre-calc to enforce...polar coords, fundamental algebra..etc. However the math-analysis is usually recommended to be taken with one year of trigonometry or linear algebra.

Math-analysis however should have enough of pre-calc to prepare you for the SAT II: Math IIC.
