OK did anyone else think the new SATS were sooo much harder than the PSATS?? and way too long...i mean i just felt like i didnt even care at the end! (given this was a practice test; im not taking the real ones until may...but still!)

The trick is to have a Red Bull before you take the test... If you do, at the end, you only get to the level of "My head really hurts..." instead of the "I don't care anymore..." It helps alittle bit, and alittle bit could mean alot. I took it in March and felt that it really helped...

:)

They're just overkill!

I don't think the idea of red bull is such a good one, but I do think the New SAT is overkill. Last May, I really "conditioned" or whatever you would call it for the old SAT and AP testing at the same time, and really built my stamina for the long tests. However, even with the same such conditioning, I was very exhausted by the end of the New SAT. This test is now testing more endurance than the old SAT. My testing was almost 5 hours long! That is much too long. I think the idea of having each section be given separately is the best idea (i.e. like the SAT II's only have Math SAT I and Verbal SAT I) included in that.

Definately, and that way it would show the results of your knowledge, not stamina.

My room had about 20 people and during section 9, 3 fell asleep.....lol

haha YES!
i'm glad people agree... maybe this new sat wont last very long....but unfortunately we are the grade that gets stuck with it :/
(its weird though...i thought it would be to my advantage since im good at the writing part...but the ridiculous 5 hours is just not necessary)

Yes... It definitely does suck for us, but we're just going to have to assume (hope :P) that it affects all of the people the same way it affects the rest of us. For those of you who are about to take it or are planning to... TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BREAKS... run around, do something that requires movement... get the blood circulating. I also suggested Red Bull but some people seemed to not agree with that. Eh, whatever floats your boat.

:)

Heh, just imagine the predicament of those people who have to take college entrance exams that last for a week, morning and afternoon, with just one break in each day.

who has to take those?

I doubt the new SAT will be reconstructed by the time we have to take them.

I took the first new SAT in March.

Woke up at 7:00
Left at 7:30
In classroom by 8:00
Test began around 8:30
Test ended around 1:15

Yes, it is a test of endurance. Forunately for me, I can sit still for five hours. I was really starving by the time the test ended though. Should have ate more than just cereal I guess.

Eggs and Orange juice for breakfast are supposed to increase allertness and be great for a long day.

Those hours seem like my school hours! (minus 1 period)

Why does everyone complain about it?

I mean, yeah it sucks, but grow up. I sure hope none of you end up having to sit the LSATs or MCATs...

I wish they could offer them in the afternoon or at least later in the morning. That would rock.

this new SAT does not even test knowledge anymore, its all endurance and stamina.... I wish there were more subjects included or math was 70% instead of english. =)

Yes, so do I. If you really dont like CR, I suggest you take the ACT like I am, it should be better.

:)

What are the differences between the SAT, SAT 2, and the ACT?
