New Score Choice Policy

what exactly is the score choice policy for the SATs? i don't understand how it works. are we not allowed to combine scores from different test dates anymore?

You can still combine scores. You just get to choose which test scores you send in. This way, if you bomb an SAT, you don't have to release the scores from that particular test. Some would think that this would mean you could take the SAT 7-8 times and only report your best score. The only catch is, I have heard that some colleges will only accept ALL scores. I believe that Stanford is one of those schools.

Just found this thread that lists those colleges that opt out:

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/643457-list-colleges-opting-out-sat-score-choice.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/643457-list-colleges-opting-out-sat-score-choice.html</a></p>

Instead of having to release all your scores, you will be able to select which scores you send. Personally, I think it's going to make parents and their kids absolutely crazy. Parents will have their kids take the test in middle school and keep taking it over and over again until they get a 2400.
