I go to a top five feeder school to Georgia tech that sends 30-40 kids a year

bump anyone?

Very high chance being in state with over average SAT

It’ll overpower the okay- GPA

Will writing being the best score hurt me though? Also, I have an upward trend since freshman year because I had 4 B’s freshman year and only 1 B after that.

No… why would it hurt you? Colleges will know that you are very capable in science/math through math section on SAT I and SAT IIs.

Anyone else? The Georgia tech forum is making me a little nervous. 3000 more applicants this year in ea!

Ill tell you right now. Never mind what I said before. 2160 will be slightly below average this year. Consider that 2150 was average last year. So Im expecting 50 point increase this time. 2200. 3000 IS A LOT more applicants. Sorry if I’m scaring you, but I am similar range as you, just with a higher GPA. I predict the EA admission rate will be 40% down 15% from last year.

Now heres the question, do you believe that you are the top 40% of applicants? I think you are.

Phew that helps. Thanks. I hope for the best of both of us.

3k more applicants?

**** I have no chance with my 3.5 uw/3.7 w/33 ACT

Last year my sister forgot to send her second set of SAT scores, so the only score that GA tech recieved was a 2050 and she got in. Her GPA was similar to yours and she had 8 AP’s but a lot of honors. She won Dean’s List for First Robotics and was also executive director of the robotics team, so that probably helped her get in. I’d put your chances at pretty high

Hmmm. Do you think the 120 hrs of volunteering is a good EC as in similar to the robotics that your sister did? It’s probably the best one I have other than maybe the science fair award. Also, the essay really showed my passion for an activity that I didn’t list as an EC because it wasn’t with an organization (programming). I’m majoring in CS and both my essays basically talked about it. Last year my friend had a 19?? on the SAT and a GPA lower than mine but similar rigor. He was secretary of beta club but everything else was like mine except w/o hospital volunteering and science fair. He wrote an amazing essay though, so I’m hoping my lang teacher’s judgement was good.

I wouldn’t say that theyre the same since Ga Tech really looks at leadership roles and I think robotics looks good. I honestly think you’ll get in. 120 hours is a good thing, science awards are a good thing, a passionate essay is a good thing. Your gpa and sat are well within range of acceptance. You will get in, if not in early action, then definitely regular decision

Anyone else want to give it a chance? I’m getting more confident but I’ll just ask for more chances

I think you seem like a strong applicant. The sat’s seem to be good. I think the gpa is also fine, considering you go to a feeder school for Georgia tech. Applying EA will also help. Best of luck and thanks for the chance!

I’m not very familiar with georgia tech, but I’d say your chances are about a high match/low reach. Your GPA and your leadership positions are a bit less than average for applicants applying to top schools, but judging on what others have been saying I think you have a good chance of getting in.

Bump again

You are definitely in at Tech, SAT helps a lot. I know someone who got in EA with a 3.8 and a 2000.
Please chance me back!
