New show on West Point

From the USMA home page:

Dan Rather Reports, an HDNet production, will feature a one hour primetime show on West Point scheduled to premier Tuesday, June 12 at 8 p.m. (ET). The show will highlight the history of West Point as well as illustrate how the U.S. Military Academy continues to prepare the Army’s next generation of leaders of character to face the challenges of the global war on terrorism.

I saw it on the USMA homepage. Looks pretty sweet!! I'm looking forward to seeing it-- only 23 more days guys!!

Unfortunately Comcast doesn't carry HDNet. Is there any way to watch this otherwise?

"You can buy individual episodes on standard definition DVDs from the HDNet online store soon after they air on HDNet. Coming soon to HD-DVD and WMV High Defintion DVD."

I have Comcast also and we won't be able to get the show. Looks like we'll be able to order dvd's of it though. Others are selling for $9.95.

If anyone is able to view it on Tuesday, let us know what you think.

I just received a reply from HDNet. The dvd will be available in 3-4 weeks. Too late for R-Day. :(

I stayed up until 2am last night watching it. It was really good (minus some of Rather's obvious anti-war tendencies although he kept it mostly positive and hailing those who give make the sacrifice of giving their lives to there country). It talked to some current students, some faculty, the First Captain, and then incoming cadets for the class of 2011 and their families and friends. It talked about the stress, the hardships, but also the extreme reward of going to the USMA. It also talked a little about daily life and the fact there is no partying. Then it showed some video and interviews at graduation this year. At the very end Rather had a nice little speech about Duty, Honor, Country. Altogether it was really good I thought.
