(I have a feeling that perhaps this topic has been posted before so, let me ask that if it has (or something similar), that someone post the link to save time for everyone else.)

Now, here's my dilemma:
After high school, I spent a year at a community college. Let's just say my party side got the better of me and I didn't do as well as I should have. After being told that I couldn't return the following fall semester, and that I'd have to appeal during the following spring semester in order to get back my financial aid, I chose to just not go back all together. I never officially withdrew from the school, I just never went back. It's been a year, and I wanted to go back to school. Since that college was outside of my area, I chose to attend a different community college that's a little more closer to home.

I did apply to the new college as a freshman applicant and I got accepted, but I haven't filled out any financial aid information. I'm afraid that if I do, my records would appear from my last college and that I'd be forced to carry that disgusting GPA on my back instead of having a fresh new start.

My question is will they find out that I attended that school and have me become a transfer student instead if I fill out the financial aid forms? With the credits and GPA that I ruefully acquired in my first freshman year of college?
