<p>U. Del this Fall will be opening 2 new large student residence halls in the east part of campus for 700 students. They are mainly designed for freshman, and will house honors students plus others.</p>
<p>It is good news for the honors students. We weren’t impressed with Russell when we visited 5 years ago so I am glad the honors kids are getting better dorms.</p>
<p>My Honors D loves Russell, (mostly due to her dormmates, of course) especially the Z-shaped room configuration.The common areas are fine, the bathrooms are standard dorm type. The biggest negative was the excrutiating heat in the fall. New Honors students fortunate to to have AC fall 2013. Russell kids, bring lots of fans!!</p>
<p>My D loves Russell too. And yes there were issues with the heat in the fall especially being on the third floor. We ended up getting some big high powered fans so the advice on bringing fans is dead on. My D couldnt wait till winter break ended so she could get back to all of her dorm buddies. For all that decide to go to UD best wishes, you are going to have the time of your lives no matter where your dorm ends up being.</p>
