<p>Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:Navy Rear Adm. Jeffrey L. Fowler has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as superintendent, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. Fowler is currently serving as director, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Sixth Fleet, plans and operations/deputy commander, Sixth Fleet/commander Submarines, Allied Naval Forces South/commander, Submarine Group Eight/CTF 69/CTF 164, Naples, Italy. </p>

<p>I read somewhere else that the change of command will happen around June 8. After Commissioning of the class of 2007 and before the class of 2011 comes on-board. A friend of my husband's served with ADM Fowler and thinks a good guy and will do good things for Navy</p>

Donuts are only served on Sunday mornings during Plebe Summer. However, tonight they had an ice cream social marking the resumption of classes after Spring Break! :)</p>
