New thread on petroleum engineering

Hi there, so I have done a few weeks of research on petroleum engineering, after I have figured I want to persue this career. I am a sr in high school and plan to go to a junior college in Nevada before transferring to University of West Virginia, who state their p.e.'s are in high demand. I also am about to be a father, so family is a must already. and my gf wants to move back to the east coast, thus WVU is perfect. However, I just have a few questions:

IS WVU a good school in P.E.? I have found it is ranked #13, yet how are their internships and job offers after grad?

After going to a j.c. for two years then switching to WVU will I even be able to do internships as a junior and being a new student?

From my research I have found the production engineers, out of the three, do the least traveling and have the regular 5-9 office jobs. this would be perfect if true?

AND would I be able to switch from a productionist to a drill or reservoir engineer after a certain amount of years, say after my kids are grown enough. (so 10-15 years) which would mean I would travel and go to offshore rigs etc.
