New to ACT

just wonderin...how long does it take for scores to be reported?... b/c i want to kno if the dec. 9th test will be sent on time for jan 1 deadlines...

Mine came about four weeks after the test (which was on June 10th). I'd say that'd be cutting it kinda close.

From actstudent.org:

Most scores are available online within 2 1/2 weeks after each national test date. Your scores are not reported any faster if you view them online. Score reports are usually mailed to your home within 4 to 7 weeks after each test date. If you took Writing, your score report will be mailed only after your Writing scores are available.

I would definitely suggest taking the ACT on an earlier available date. I don't remember mine coming in before four weeks, and since that's the "minimum," you would be out of luck getting them back before Jan 1.

If you are not taking writing, you should be in the clear unless something happens like a test center problem, or you copy the information from your admission ticket wrong. Just keep in mind that something totally out of your control could delay your scores.

If you are taking writing, your scores could get there on time but there's a pretty good chance they won't.

If you live where there could be a blizzard in December, the test could get rescheduled to a later date.

I think many colleges will accept scores after the application date. You should check with each one you're applying to.
