Hey there. I am new to this post. Just starting the transition from high school to college and found this site. It looked like it could be really helpful so I joined! I just finished high school and am attending my community college for two years before transfering to a four year university. I now know that I need high scores on sat/act to get into my top schools. Which one do I take sat or act? Should I take both and then choose the one I got the highest scores in? Do some colleges require both? I saw that there are some schools that are going the sat optional way. Only I think Medical schools require the scores, don't they? Anyway, I would really appreciate the help. As you can see I'm a little lost and would apprectiate any help you could possibly give.

You can take either or both for transfer to a four year university. Medical schools don't require the SAT or ACT; they want the MCAT.

Most colleges require either the SAT or ACT. Some require SAT I and SAT II OR the ACT. It all depends on where you want to go.

For transfer, you might not need SAT nor ACT. You can check the Transfer forum here at CC for more information.
