Hello all!
As I have been filling out the Common App, whenever I have a question, results from this website came up, and they have been very useful. So, I joined and found this forum. What I want to know is "what are my chances" of getting into an Ivy League School? I'm a senior now and have applied early for my safety schools.

Now, I want to work on applying to these schools which has always been my dream.

ACT info
27 Composite score
English 29, Math 25, Reading 28, Science 24, Writing 8

SAT info..
Critical Reading 680, Math 570, Writing 600 (I am retaking SAT in november as well)
I will take my SAT IIs in December - Spanish and either Lit or World History

Weighted Cumulative GPA is 4.31
unweighted class rank is 8 out of 282 (I'm tied with 8 others) (decile- 1) top 3%
weighted class rank is 28 out of 282 (decile- 1)
I earned 23 credits out of 21 attempted - I earned my Algebra & spanish 1 cred in middle school.

I am a straight A student, and a very good essay writer.

I got a 5 on my World History AP exam, and will take the Spanish AP exam in Spring

This year, my classes are (Spanish 5 AP, Physics, Sociology, Anthro, Precalc, Concert Choir, and English 12 Honors)

I am highly involved in Spanish- member of my school's first Spanish Nat'l honor society for 3 years, silver medal in the National Spanish Exam, in Spanish 5 AP now... I am considering Spanish as a major.

In 10th grade my family hosted a foreign exchange student and last summer I spent a month visiting in Germany. (I'm interested in other cultures)

I have been in Girl Scouts since age 8, earned my silver and bronze award.

I have been playing piano for 4 years (my favorite hobby, been in several recitals)
I sing in my school's Concert Choir, and in my church choir, Also i was a leader in my church teen band and sang solos every time

I was on my school's Freshman volleyball team in 9th grade.

Thanks so much for your input! It is greatly appreciated. Any other qs I can answer.

Welcome to CC!

What is your intended major?
Are you a Latina?

Although your GPA is excellent, your test scores, and to a lesser extent your course rigor and ECs, will not make you competitive with many applicants at the ultra competitive and selective Ivy League schools. I think most of the Ivy/Ivy equivalent schools will be very high reaches for you. Apply and see what happens but have some good match and safety schools on your list as well, including financial match and safety schools. Best of luck!

Thanks for replying! no, I am white so that doesn’t really help me any.

Yes, I have already applied to my safety schools, so I thought I might pick a few high reaches, just in case I have a chance.

Thanks again!

I think that you do have a chance for the higher up schools, but your SAT/ACT scores need to increase dramatically to really stand a fighting chance! While they are not everything, they do count for something, and they will hurt you in the process! With that said, Cornell would be a good place to try! They tend to be a little more relaxed about that stuff! I wish you all the best!

In all honesty, not much of a chance at all. The acceptance rates at these schools are very low.

While I think it is a good idea to apply to some reaches, now that you have applied to your safeties, perhaps you should set your sights a little lower.

Apply to schools with 30% acceptance rates, not 10% acceptance rates.

Might look at Holy Cross-very good school that is also SAT optional. HC has nice campus and great school spirit.
