I made my choice and I'm going to UCR!
I have a question though, well a couple.
I gave in my SIR last Friday, when will I receive my NetId? I already got my permid.
And also any recommendations for freshman housing?

For freshman housing, I recommend staying in the res halls. It’s expensive compared to other options, but you’ll only get that college dorm experience once in your lifetime! There’s different kinds of dorms, it would be helpful to know what you’re looking for in housing? Like do you want to be more social/more private?

East Looo!! is the best in my opinion.

Pentland is good if you want a more quiet environment.

AI and East Lo are more social; I think East Lo is nicer though.

Thanks for answering.
I’m a really social person but sometimes I just like to have time to myself.
From what I have been reading though East Lo seems to be one of the most popular dorm choices. If I wanted to stay there, would I need to get my housing information ASAP?
Thanks again!

Yeah East Lo is definitely the most popular and housing is first come first serve, so if you want to live there then sign up fast!

I lived in Pentland Hills and probably had a better time than most of my friends in any dorms. Honestly, it’s all up to chance of who’s in your halls. I’ve had some friends at East Lo that were bored as hell because the people just didn’t click. On the other hand the whole first floor of my Pentland Hills dorm (bldg B, not that it matters) clicked and we all kicked it and had fun every night. So hope you get a bomb hall or else get involved in clubs.

When I apply for housing do I have to just pick one option? I was thinking of East Lo but also Pentland.

And how long did it take you guys to get your UCR NetId? I SIR’ed last Friday but have not gotten anything besides my PermPin. And for some reason I didn’t have to pay when I submitted my SIR, should I be worried?

Don’t trip. You’ll get everything soon enough. Be worried if you start school and don’t have that information. I don’t know about housing (it’s been a long long time - 4 years ago) but I believe they give you one primary and one secondary option? I may be wrong though things change.

You will get your NetID in the next 3-4 days under your UCR ID tab. If you do not get it by tomorrow you should try contacting them. Don’t worry about the SIR. That means that you qualified for a fee waiver and therefore do not need to pay for it.

I received my NetId
And thank you for answering my questions.
