new to this board

hi, i'm new to this board, kind of new to the whole "preparing for college world", as well.

anyway, my situation is that i screwed myself over to the extreme when it comes to freshman and sophomore years of high school. by extreme, i mean freshman year, failing probably half my classes, and sophomore year failing maybe 90% of my classes. this year however i've decided maybe i'd like a life after high school, so im planning on passing with B+ and A's in all average-difficulty classes.

so with this situation, what types of colleges should i be looking at? i wanted to look into some CUNY colleges, but i have no idea if my situation would qualify.

any, ANY help is more than appreciated.

hmmm...i'm not sure. Your situation is tough but let me give you this as inspiration: My brother was in a similar situation as you. He had really bad grades until his junior year and from then on he had all As and Bs including AP classes. He was a really smart kid just even more lazy. Anyway he graduated with just barley a 2.0 like I don't think even that. He got accepted into a private school because they saw how he improved. It cost an arm and a leg BUT it was a school. Anyway he was there one semester then he transferred to a local university second semester THEN he got into a very good university and graduated with a 3.8. NOW he is well on his way to being a doctor (3rd year) and is in the top of his med school class. Hes seriously one of the smartest most driven people i know. ANYWAY....the moral of the story is THERE IS A SCHOOL FOR EVERYONE. your best bet will probably be a small private school (at least at first). Because i don't know your exact stats i can't give you specifics or anything. I don't know if this was any help at all, but best of luck let me know if i can tell you anything else :)

that helps, thanks a lot. :-)
