ECs look great. Try to get ur SAT score up...700+ on every section is ideal...take ur SAT 2s by october...apply early!

yeah unless ur an URM try to boost that SAT score and GPA

early action is a lot harder than regular so if you don't get the sat up by then it might not be such a good idea.

other than that, buena suerte!

thanks guys...yeah im an URM...btw will it help if i get an extra recommendation from the congressman? is that allowed or no?

bump (10 character)

yeah send the rec...only if its good.

A recommendation from a Member of Congress may or may not be a good idea.

If the Congressman actually knows you and your work well, so that he can write or sign a believable, specific, and personal recommendation, then such a letter could be helpful.

On the other hand, though, if the Congressman really does not know you well, if the only believable recommendation would be a pretty standard "she is a smart kid and a good worker" letter that would show no real knowledge of you personally, then I doubt that the letter will help you. In that case, I believe that you would be better served by getting recommendations from people who know you well and think highly of you.

thanks for the advice...my 2nd marking pd grades arent so hot due problems at home and now that i work 20 hours a week...i probably cant go to college 2 far since i live with my mom only and shes not in the best health so im trying to look at NYU or columbia now...even though columbia is a far far reach...but i guess an education is an education right =/
