New to Transfer Process

So I applied to transfer out next Spring, and the school I would like to get into told me that I had to send my high school transcripts, and college transcripts by Dec 1. I put in the request for high schools, and I explained to them that I was a first semester freshman so I had no prior college transcripts expect for the course I took at a 2 year school. They said it was fine as long as everything else was in before Dec 1st, and that I send my college transcripts ASAP after finals. What happens if one of my professors takes their time to grade my final? My sister had this happen to her where the one professor took nearly 2 1/2 weeks before posting it.

My other question is do I register for courses next semester at current school just in case I do not get accepted to this school for Spring semester? I don't want to if I don't have too because I have to pay a deposit for that and housing before I can do anything. I know some schools do a conditional acceptance pending your transcripts, but they did not say if they did this. I plan on calling their office tomorrow morning to see if that is done. They already sent me a letter with an id number, and email address. I have a feeling this is just so I can check my status. Thanks for all the help.

You send what you have when you have it, and if the professor is taking an unfair amount of time, you can let him know your situation (if, perhaps, he’s waiting for all the grades to be in before releasing any of them), and keep the school posted.

Typically, you do register for classes just in case. In my case, the deadline for paying for the next semester and housing was not until after the date I’d been informed of whether or not I’d been accepted to my schools, but I’m not sure how your school works. I’d suggest talking to an advisor at your school to get the low down.
