So....a big congratulations to students who have been accepted for Spring '09 transfer to Cornell!

I realize there is a short turnaround time between acceptance and joining your fellow Cornellians on the Hill and you might have tons of questions. I'm here to help!

I transferred to CALS in Fall 2005 but I will do my best to answer your questions or direct you to someone who would know. Feel free to PM me as well...but I might be a little slow in responding.

Again...congrats and welcome to the Big Red family!!!

You won't have much trouble registering for classes. Many current students will be changing their schedules during the add/drop period and so classes will open and such. If you find yourself shut out of a class....just speak with the prof...more often than not they'll let you in the class.

You should be able to get a parking permit but you'll most likely have to park on North Campus...kind of a pain. There are some spots near West....but those are permit only during the weel.

After not getting accepted for the fall 2008 semester, the hotel school said they would give me a "preferred transfer acceptance" for the spring semester. As a result, I sent in another set of transfer forms (much more simple than the normal application) along with records from the college I attended for my fall semester.

Cornell was supposed to have posted my official admissions decision by today. However, I wasn't sent an email telling me how to view my admissions decisions. If I wasn't given a pin #/password to view my admissions decisions and they haven't posted anything on my application self-service system, how am I supposed to know if I got in? Do I just have to wait for the paper notification??

Dewdrop87, I can't think of any questions right now to ask you.. except that I am wondering if there was anything that you didn't think of when transferring to Cornell that you wish you had asked/known beforehand? Things to bring, things not to bring, any random tips..
