We hope that you will like the new UC Transfer Sub Forum recently created here on College Confidential.

There is so much activity on the Transfer Forum specifically related to transfers from California Community Colleges into the UC system, as well as transfers within the UC system... that we thought it would serve everyone's needs to create a separate sub-forum.

Transferring into that system has its own lingo, it's own timing and many other distinct elements. Those looking for top quality information about transfers involving the UCs can go right to that sub-forum.

Those looking for more general transfer information, as well as those considering schools not part of that system, will find useful threads under the main Transfer Forum heading.

I have taken recent threads involving the UCs (going about 4 pages back) and moved them to the UC sub-forum. If you know of other, older, threads which you think would benefit from the same move, just post them here and I will make the move.

I do have a qx for you guys. These older threads - how are they used? Some of them were started a year or more ago, but do have recent posts (eg, April 07). But others haven't been posted in since 2006.

Alot of people use it for informational purposes.

For example, if you go over the Emory University's forum, they try to find out ways, or more specifically, "signs" that tell them they have been accepted.

This year, many clever readers found out that if you are able to see your ID number activated, and are able to see the housing application for berkeley, its a sure sign of acceptance; same thing could be said for UCLA and the financial aid information update. Even though a lot of these threads are old, many people like to read what went on back in the yesteryears for either essay help, ways to tell if one is admitted, or just to see who went where, i suppose.

Andale, we use older threads to get an estimate of dates, stats, and pretty much just historical data to put all the nervous people this year at ease. I hope that made sense lol.
