new wave due?

cool our stats are very similar...
i got a 2160 SAT, CR: 670 M: 740 W:750
with 3.7 uw gpa, but my rank is only like top 20% 101st/565 (VERY competitive high school)

i'm a national merit finalist with USC as my desgnated first choice school
4 years of varsity softball, 1st team all district every year, 3rd team all greater houston last year, and team mvp last year

along with some other crap extracurriculars
my essay was prety good, and my short answer/paragraphs were pretty good as well

do you think my chances are good? most people say national merit finalist makes it almost definite but i don't want to assume anything

I'm surprised you haven't been admitted in the 3rd wave already melmel!

I hope the fact that I haven't been in the first 3 waves isn't indicative of the strength of my application, but it's probably true. :(

so cal here...nothing from usc :( grrrrrr

melmel, your stats are better than mine, and you're a national merit finalist. i, on the other hand, was just commended haha i'm pretty sure you will get in.

Anyways, you're from houston? I'm from here too! haha =)

socal here and received nothing today.so far accepted to ucsb and CMC

I'm also from houston :)

nothin in norcal. i get it now

western PA, nothing here..

socal nothing

nothing today. :[

socal, nada

d is so far accepted to U Miami and USD (both EA with merit $), Cal Poly SLO, and a few CSU's

loves SC though

languages- how did you hear from UCSB (email or snail)? r u a scholarship interviewee there?

keepin the faith as we used to say back in the day..lol

weird, nobody mentioned anything about a new wave coming this week. i just checked my mailbox today and i see a big package from usc and i got accepted. it was dated 3/11

I guess you're the first, and now you will have the privilege of being the cause of oh-so-many people stressing out this week :)

it was postmarked on sunday.....uhhhh? are you sure? the post office is closed on sundays...

I think he means the letter of acceptance was dated Sunday, not the postmark.

wow congrats, which school?

but i guess we do need to relax...my dad called the admissions offiice today and they mentioned that some acceptance letters would be trickling out before april
1st but that the majority would go out in april, they also said we wouldn't hear about any scholarships until way after we've gotten accepted.

yeah, the letter was dated on sunday 3/11, postmarked 3/12

Letters and Sciences (Mathematics), GPA 3.8 UW, SAT 2110, SAT 2s 760 750 690, 120 hours volunteer, youth and government 2 years, secretary of cancer club, couple other activities, sister currently attends, decent/good essays

are you in California?
