New way to apply - Universal College Application

(from <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=369628%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=369628</a>)</p>

A Baltimore company founded by a Hopkins alum who helped create the CommonApp software has launched the "Universal College Application". It looks like schools like Duke, Harvard and Hopkins have already signed on to accepting the new application. From the Businessweek article mentioned in the thread above, the application is not limited to schools who require an essay and rec letter (like the CommonApp is) but it looks like most schools are going to be adding supplements to the Universal App.

The story behind the creation of the Universal College Application is an interesting one, and one that will probably never be accurately told in the media. All in all though, competition is a good thing in my humble opinion and the Universal App. offers just another means of applying for students.

I will say that the Universal App. will be well-run option since it was created by a Hopkins alum.
