Any thoughts on Haverford's new web page? It's less cluttered/busy than before, which I personally like. However, I think it is overly simplified and gives the impression that not much is going on at Haverford. You have to be a frequent visitor to the web site to get a sense of the diversity of experiences available at Haverford. I happen to be a serial visitor, but a casual visitor might miss that diversity. A possible solution would be to have recently archived homepage photos visible as small icons on the current homepage. Just a thought.

Agreed. The banner up top could be more interesting as well, perhaps like it was previously with a partially opaque Haverford in cursive behind. It was far prettier and more professional in appearance that way.

Totally agree. The home page is NOT inviting. One has to root around to find things. The home page should show some of the beauty of the campus and some of the beauty of the engaged student community.

To me it just seems sort of condensed and compacted.

seems very similar to Vassar’s homepage, including fonts…

Oh my goodness, I think you’re right!

Apparently, they use the same web publishing software (WordPress [WordPress › Blog Tool, Publishing Platform, and CMS](http://wordpress.org/)), and might use the same or similar template/theme.

Wonder who is copying whom? Or is it ‘great minds think alike’.

It’s beginning to look like a popular design trend. Johns Hopkins looks simliar, too, [Johns Hopkins University](http://www.jhu.edu/). Haverford’s old pages have had a few iterations that are still popular with other colleges and universities:

in 2005: [Haverford College](Haverford College)
versus Columbia or Swarthmore now [Columbia University in the City of New York](http://www.columbia.edu/) [Swarthmore College :: Home](http://www.swarthmore.edu/)

in 2009: [Haverford College](Haverford College)
versus Cornell now as an example [Cornell University](http://www.cornell.edu/)

Just recently checked the college out for my D and I really like the webpage. In fact most information is very easy to find as opposed to some others colleges D and I have seen. From the brief visit I am already interested in D looking more into visiting and applying.
