Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone here has applied for this scholarship. I had a question and I called the number, left a message and I e-mailed them and they still have not gotten back to me. But my question was do we send in the teacher recommendations after they "request" us to do so or does the "upon request" mean upon requesting our teachers? I pretty sure it's the former, but I was wondering if anyone knew for sure.

I am beginning to think that this scholarship is fake b/c they want $20 along w/ the application. And I have contacted them many times through the telephone as well as e-mail and have gotten no response. And when you call there number it says that it will connect you to the operator but instead you get the "President" of the Foundation. I don't know if I want to apply to this scholarship as it asks you to send your SAR to them, which I would gladly do to any big name company, but I've never even heard of this before. SAR has some quite personal info ie: income, social security number, etc.

Then again it was on Fastweb. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

I don't know... The layout of the website seems pretty amateur, and it is really fishy that there is a application fee. I've never heard of an application fee for a scholarship. Did you also see the part of the website where they ask for donations of 1,000 or 2,500 dollars? I haven't heard of scholarship foundations asking for donations, either.

I would say that you do not apply to this scholarship. You will be able to find money to go to college some other way. Maybe you can complete your application today, bring it to school tomorrow, and see what your guidance counselor thinks of it. My guidance counselor knows about many scholarships in NY, and I think that she would have mentioned this one to us if it was actually real.
