New York Liberal arts education

What schools in New York city offer liberal arts programs?
I am looking to possibly transfer, as I am looking for a much more urban feel and the possibility for museums, theatre, and better internships, than what my campus currently offers..
Anything anyone can recommend?

NYU offers a fantastic liberal arts programs.

Columbia, NYU, Vassar, Fordham, Cooper Union, to name a few.

The Cooper Union is probably the furthest thing from a liberal arts school. There’s the engineering, architecture and art schools, and each of them focus heavily on their own fields.

lol, yes you’re right. My bad, I was just listing all the NY schools off the top of my head…

Certainly NYU and Columbia. Fordham is a good choice too.

And Vassar is in Poughkeepsie, a town about 2 hours north of the city.

Great guys, I knew about NYU and Columbia.

I know Columbia is quite difficult to get into. Is the acceptance rate different for the Liberal Arts programs?

I’ll add Barnard to the list, for women. It’s in the city and definitely a small liberal arts college but has Columbia resources. I’d say NYU’s Arts & Sciences school and the General Studies program are the liberal arts programs at NYU. Stern, Tisch, etc. are quite specialized. As for Columbia, admissions is tough regardless of program but if it’s your first choice, you owe it to yourself to try.

No. Liberal Arts is part of Columbia College Arts & Sciences.

Transfer rates, however, are very different than freshman admit rates, and they are not terribly high.
