I got into New York University for an MA in psychology and also received a scholarship at Imperial College London for an MBA. Which would you choose?
My goal is to do applied psychology. I will go for a PhD after in psychology, I am not sure if one degree matters more than the other before.
What do you guys think? I will decide tomorrow
What is your undergrad degree in? What do you mean by applied psychology?
If your undergrad degree is in psychology, then getting a masters before applying to PhD programs is a waste of time and money, unless you need to boost your GPA/research experience.
How would the MBA related to the PhD? If it’s just to have the degree, then I don’t really see the point.
London’s Calling. Take the scholarship.
Yeah, what @jazzcatastrophe says. Unless you had a low GPA in undergrad and need to prove yourself an MA in psychology is unnecessary. But if your goal is a PhD in psychology, then the MBA seems like a waste of time.
Nevertheless, were I making the choice I would definitely take a lower-cost MBA in London over the expensive and unnecessary MA in psychology at NYU.
